About us

Whether you move goods into the UK (importer) or out of the UK (exporter), a customs declaration has to be submitted in compliance with the UK regulations, and the international trade requirements, and any related duty or tax has to be paid.

As an expert UK customs clearance agency, Superciel can submit your declaration electronically in advance on your behalf. All you need to do is:

Give us your written instruction to act on your behalf as your direct representative.

Give us all the information and documentation we need to do this for you.

Customs clearance solutions

When we receive all the relevant information and documentation from you, we check the commodity code and submit your declaration from our computer system into the HMRC system.

We receive a calculation of any duty or tax that might be due on your goods, and we proceed with the payment as we have agreed on top of our brokerage fees. Your goods are customs cleared and released to go straight away or when they get to the border.

We manage your shipments both ways and deal with customs for you as direct customs agents, and we arrange to clear your goods through customs.

We also undertake freight forwarding services on demand if you request goods to be moved around the world for you. We also act as fast parcel operators and make arrangement for effective delivery of your documents, parcels and freight across the world within the specified time frame.

10 steps to customs clearance

1. Make sure you have an EORI number (Economic Operator Registration and Identification)
2. Write a letter instructing us to be your DIRECT representative for customs clearance.
3. Have your commercial invoices ready (Invoice from your supplier or related to your goods; it must include the details of the seller, your details as a buyer, what the goods are and how much you paid for them)
4. Export declaration replaces the term "customs clearance" when you are getting goods out of the UK.
5. Give us an accurate description of the goods, how they are contained and their values.
6. Provide us with the tariff number (HS code) if possible.
7. Clarify who is paying and the seller and buyer's responsibilities for what from when the goods are taken to where they are delivered. This is in incoterms code.
8. Verify you have all the authorisation and licenses to handle the concerned goods.
9. It is your responsibility to verify that the goods to declare match the goods in the shipment.
10. For Exporters, we need to include in the declaration the MRN (Movement Reference Number).
